Airbnb character home Mood Board

Introducing my latest decor project; an AirBnB Character home near the University of Alberta in the McKernan area. Still working on it’s official charming and inviting name ….taking suggestions in the comments.

This home has been the Pastor’s house for many years, located right next door to an old Church in McKernan. It’s now getting a second chance and is getting a mini makeover as an AirBnB for those travelling to Edmonton. This home has good bones and a great location, close to the University of Alberta and the LRT. All it needs a new quote of paint and some love and attention in the details. That’s where I come in, to select colours, establish the mood and furnish it!

Design Details for Character Home

In attempts to capture its original era all the while adding modern comforts I use a mood board to organize all of my creative ideas swirling around my brain. I will most certainly use second hand and new fabrications to make the project come to life!

Currently it’s under some minor renovations to update the bathroom, get some appliances and of course new paint to freshen up the space!

We (Huzzy’s co. YEG Builders and I) are aiming to have it ready for guests Summer 2020. Fun facts about this house besides it’s interesting past is that it will actually be able to sleep 12! This tiny home in appearance actually has 6 bedrooms and two full baths. With a traditional entry right in the middle of the home it opens into a formal dining room and massive living room. I love these kind of projects that capture the old and the new, and can’t wait to share more with you as the project progresses.

I simply can’t wait to see it come to life!
